Finance Manager - Group External Reporting

About this role

As part of the Group Control team, you will support the delivery of timely and accurate periodic and bi‑annual financial reporting, ensuring key financial processes operate efficiently and in line with agreed controls. You’ll bring strong technical accounting expertise, contributing to high‑quality external reporting, supporting senior stakeholders and auditors, and translating complex accounting matters into clear, practical insights for non‑experts.

  • Support the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely Group external financial reporting in line with IFRS and Group accounting policies, including ownership of selected primary statements and disclosures.
  • Act as the key point of contact for an allocated Business Unit, partnering with Finance Controllers to review performance and continuously improve the quality and clarity of periodic reporting.
  • Support the delivery of periodic results through analysis and presentation of accountable areas to the Group Corporate Finance Director and Group Control Director.
  • Prepare and review accounting papers for key transactions, clearly explaining complex accounting issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors on both routine and ad‑hoc matters.
  • Deliver ad‑hoc projects to support the ongoing improvement of Group external reporting.
  • Support and strengthen Internal Controls over Financial Reporting across key processes.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, with experience in audit or a financial control role within a complex, fast‑paced organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Solid understanding of end‑to‑end financial reporting processes and internal controls.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Highly organised and proactive, able to manage competing deadlines with attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.
