Service Delivery Manager
Band 6
We aim to develop a more comprehensive role that will ensure real-time validation, excellent understanding of data handling for reports / business cases/ slides etc, and provision of data for daily performance across all units within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology service. The primary responsibilities of the new position will include:
- Analysing and presenting data for all RTT, USC and Antenatal cases
- Planning and coordinating business meetings, preparing and distributing necessary data and documentation beforehand.
- Overseeing and supporting pay and non-paid finance including raising invoices within the admin budget and coordinating financial matters with the Service Manager and General Manager.
- Managing the RADAR system and overseeing the risk register, complaints, and incidents.
This position will closely collaborate with the existing Band 5 Team leaders, sharing responsibilities and providing cover when necessary.
The department has 1 WTE Service Delivery Manager who will oversee all administrative functions within Obstetrics and Gynaecology, offering senior-level support and expert guidance to the entire team. There will be two Team lead roles and whilst each individual will take the lead in delivering specific areas the post-holders line manage the team leads and ensure workload is managed collaboratively. The role is responsible for managing administrative processes to ensure high-quality, effective, and patient-centred care while achieving all performance targets. The post-holder will provide regular updates on these targets and collaborate closely with the wider management team, including nursing and clinical leads. Additionally, they will escalate any issues that may disrupt the patient experience to the General and Service Manager. Occasionally, the post holder may represent the Service Manager in their absence.
Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.
CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.
Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

· Provide daily operational support to the Service Manager across allocated services. This includes proactively managing staffing, performance and risks across these areas, working closely with the Service Manager to ensure safe, continuous, and effective service delivery.
· Coordinate outpatient clinic capacity, theatre list capacity and clinical timetables,adjusting in response to demand fluctuations and escalations from the Outpatient Booking Office, Elective Admissions and service teams.
· Lead the preparation and publication of theatre and clinic schedules, ensuring accurate consultant leave, SPA and annualisation data is reflected.
· Monitor service performance against RTT, cancer, diagnostics and internal KPIs. Any risks to patient safety and operational performance must be documented on the appropriate Trust system and escalated to the Service Manager and General Manager either verbally or in writing.
· Support the Service Manager and General Manager with the development of service recovery actions to mitigate risks and improve operational performance.
· Support the management of patient waiting lists, demand and capacity modelling, and identification of breach risks.
· Produce regular operational reports, dashboards and action logs for divisional and Trust forums.
