Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Middlesex | Full-Time | Up to £39,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly and well-established small animal veterinary practice in Middlesex, West London, on a full-time permanent basis.
This welcoming practice is situated in a highly desirable family area of West London, with a loyal and established client base, many of whom are engaged through the practice healthcare plan. The successful candidate will be joining a settled, supportive team, including a Lead Veterinary Surgeon who has been part of the practice for over 12 years.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take ownership within a branch setting, develop leadership skills, and play a key role in supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals.
The Opportunity
As the sole RVN within the practice, the successful candidate will take on a varied and rewarding position, working closely alongside the veterinary surgeon to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic. Due to the additional responsibilities associated with this role, a higher salary band is offered, alongside opportunities for leadership training and career development.
This practice is also a dedicated veterinary nurse training practice, meaning the RVN will play an instrumental role in mentoring and supporting student veterinary nurses throughout their studies via the organisation’s in-house training college.
The role offers excellent clinical exposure in a warm, bright and welcoming environment, complete with a spacious consulting room, theatre, kennel area and laboratory facilities.
Key Responsibilities
The Registered Veterinary
Nurse will be responsible for
- Delivering a consistently high standard of veterinary nursing care to patients
- Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations where required
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate patient hospitalisation records
- Ensuring excellent patient comfort, welfare and wellbeing at all times
- Cleaning, sterilising and storing clinical equipment correctly
- Managing stock levels of drugs, consumables and diets, and placing supplier orders where necessary
- Supporting the induction and training of new team members
- Acting as a Clinical Supervisor for student veterinary nurses, providing guidance and support throughout training
- Assisting with reception duties when required, ensuring an excellent client experience in person, via email and over the telephone
- Promoting a respectful, collaborative and positive team culture
Working Hours
This is a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position, working
- 40 hours per week
- 1 in 4 Saturdays at branch level
- 1 in 10 Sundays at a nearby sister hospital
- 1 bank holiday per year on rota
There are no out-of-hours or on-call requirements, supporting an excellent work-life balance.
Out-of-hours and emergency care are provided by a nearby sister hospital located just 3 miles away, offering advanced facilities including CT imaging, ensuring patients continue to receive exceptional care outside of branch opening hours.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this RVN job in Middlesex is £35,000 – £39,000 per annum, dependent on experience, with clear opportunities for progression and development.

Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will
- Be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) eligible to work in the UK
- Be passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit veterinary team
- Have strong organisational and communication skills
- Ideally enjoy mentoring and supporting student veterinary nurses
