FAMILY LIFESTYLE ASSISTANT (CHILDCARE & HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT)

Root & Nest is recruiting Family Lifestyle Assistants to support professional and high-net-worth families across London and Kent.

We are currently particularly interested in candidates available for regular after-school and early-evening support, typically between 3:30pm and 8:00pm, although additional daytime, weekend and school-holiday hours may be available depending on the family.

Our Family Lifestyle Assistants provide a combination of childcare, household management and practical family support. Responsibilities will vary by placement but may include:

School and nursery collections

Driving children to clubs, appointments and activities

Providing attentive, age-appropriate childcare

Supporting homework, reading and learning

Planning activities and outings

Preparing children's or family meals

Supporting evening and bedtime routines

Preparing school bags and uniforms for the following day

Children's laundry and wardrobe organisation

Keeping children's bedrooms, play areas and shared spaces organised

Light household organisation and family resets

Grocery shopping and family errands

Helping parents stay ahead of everyday family routines

These are trusted positions within private family homes. Many of our clients are looking for a long-term Lifestyle Assistant who can get to know their children, understand their household and become a reliable part of family life.

Some placements may also provide opportunities to travel with families within the UK or internationally, support families during holidays and attend special occasions or events where childcare or family support is required.

Travel and event opportunities vary by placement and are not guaranteed.

Pay is typically £18–£30 per hour and is negotiable depending on experience, responsibilities, location and the individual placement. More substantial part-time and full-time opportunities are also available, with some experienced London-based positions offering remuneration in excess of £60,000 per annum.

Successful candidates will complete the Root & Nest selection and safeguarding process before joining the Root & Nest Approved Lifestyle Assistant Network and being considered for suitable family matches.
