About this role

Nursery Preschool Teacher

40 hours per week

Term-time only options may be considered for the right candidate

Our Day Nursery, Beddington Park, Wallington, is looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to join our team!

Our Day Nursery is a unique, curiosity-led nursery with capacity for 55 babies and young children each day. Situated within the beautiful surroundings of Beddington Park, our children benefit from daily opportunities to explore nature, investigate the world around them, and learn through meaningful hands-on experiences and child-led discovery. We have extensive outdoor spaces, as well as ducks, chickens, and quails, giving children wonderful opportunities to connect with nature and develop curiosity through real-life experiences and outdoor learning.

As a Preschool Teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and inspiring environment where children feel confident to explore, question, investigate, and develop a lifelong love of learning. You will support and guide children through play-based and curiosity-led learning opportunities, ensuring every child feels valued, engaged, and supported in their individual development.

Working closely with the Room Lead and Nursery Practitioners, you will help deliver a high-quality early years experience where children can play, learn, socialise, and thrive in a warm and welcoming environment. You will also build positive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support children’s learning journeys and progress.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early years education and truly understands the importance of nurturing curiosity, independence, creativity, and confidence in young children. The successful candidate will hold either Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or be a High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) alongside a strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework and principles.

Responsible, organised, and caring, you will ensure health and safety remains paramount at all times — from the learning environment and room set-up to children’s dietary requirements, allergies, and wellbeing.
