Consultant Stroke Physician

The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary stroke team and contribute to the provision of timely specialist review and management of patients presenting with cerebrovascular disease. Duties will include supporting acute stroke pathways, inpatient stroke care, and ambulatory stroke services across the Trust. Applicants should have broad experience in Stroke Medicine and General Internal Medicine, together with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based stroke care. Experience in thrombolysis decision-making and thrombectomy referral pathways would be desirable, depending on experience (There is potential to join Royal London Hospital HASU on call rota if candidate wishes to join) The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering high-quality stroke care across the Trust and will contribute to the ongoing development of our stroke services. The post-holder will provide consultant leadership for: A 29-bedded Acute Stroke Unit Daily consultant-led TIA assessment service Stroke outpatient follow-up clinics Multidisciplinary stroke care pathways Teaching, training and supervision of junior medical staff Clinical governance, audit and quality improvement activities
