SALARY

£29,983 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION

Stanwell, Middlesex (TW19) with travel across Staines, Surrey and Bromley. Mileage paid

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Housing Support Officer / Scheme Manager to make a real difference to older and vulnerable residents by helping them feel safe, supported and confident in their homes.

As the Housing Support Officer / Scheme Manager you will be a trusted day-to-day point of contact for residents, families, contractors and professionals, ensuring the service runs smoothly and that residents receive the right support, guidance and signposting when needed.

The Housing Support Officer / Scheme Manager will also complete health and safety checks, support tenancy activity, maintain accurate records, respond to safeguarding concerns and work closely with internal teams, care providers, statutory services and voluntary agencies.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Housing Support Officer /

Scheme Manager will include

Health and Safety Checks

Complete regular health, safety and fire safety checks, maintaining clear, accurate and auditable records

Resident Support

Provide person-centred support using assessments, risk assessments, ILPs, logbooks and appropriate signposting

Tenancy Activity

Support viewings, assessments, sign-ups, induction meetings, move-ins and tenancy terminations

Safeguarding Response

Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in line with procedures and reporting requirements

Community Engagement

Support residents to shape social, wellbeing and community activities that reflect their interests and needs

ASB Case Support

Respond to anti-social behaviour issues fairly and professionally, working with housing colleagues where required

DBS Compliance

Maintain accurate DBS-related records for ancillary workers, contractors, volunteers and visitors to the schemes

Partnership Working

Liaise with care providers, GPs, hospitals, social services, local authorities, families and community organisations

Benefits and Arrears Support

Help residents access Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other welfare benefits where appropriate

Scheme Coordination

Act as a reliable first point of contact for residents, families, professionals and contractors

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Experience in a customer-facing role

• Good understanding of the needs of older or vulnerable people

• Background in housing, care, support, customer service, resident services or a similar people-focused environment

• Confidence with basic health and safety responsibilities, inspections and record keeping

• Ability to keep accurate, confidential and appropriate records

• Calm, resilient and organised approach, with the ability to work independently

• Able to have clear, honest and kind conversations with residents and stakeholders

• Full UK driving licence and access to a car

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in Housing or Supported Housing, or willingness to work towards this

• Supervisory or management training

• Health and safety knowledge or qualification

• Knowledge of welfare benefits, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit

• Experience organising or supporting social and wellbeing activities

• Experience working in sheltered housing, extra care or supported housing
