Transport/Logistics Operator

We are a fast-growing transport, logistics, and warehousing company based in Long Crendon, providing reliable nationwide haulage and storage solutions to a wide range of customers across the UK. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an organised and proactive Transport Operator to join our busy operations team.

The Role

As a Transport Operator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts. You will work closely with drivers, customers, warehouses, and the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and communicating with drivers throughout the day
• Liaising with customers regarding deliveries, collections, and service updates
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer accounts
• Booking deliveries and coordinating warehouse movements
• Monitoring service performance and resolving any issues professionally and efficiently
• Completing transport administration and maintaining accurate records
• Working closely with warehouse and management teams to maximise operational efficiency
• Handling customer queries, transport issues, and delays proactively

Requirements

• Previous experience within transport, logistics, customer service, or haulage operations preferred
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and build strong working relationships within the current team
• Confident using Microsoft Office and transport management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Flexible and team-oriented attitude

Desirable Skills

• Experience within road haulage industry
• Experience working with key accounts or customer service-focused roles
• International transport or logistics experience would be an advantage, but not essential
• Knowledge of pallet networks or general haulage

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 0900hrs–1700hrs, with flexibility required to meet operational demands.
