About this role
We are seeking a Data Scientist & Data Storytelling Lead, to transform how data is interpreted, communicated, and used across our organisation. This role will turn curated datasets into compelling, decision ready insight and build the analytical products that shape our operational and strategic decisions.
You will be the guardian of our data narrative: enabling leaders, operational teams, and clients to understand performance, predict risk, identify opportunity, and embrace AI enabled decision making.
This is a hands on, high impact role operating across Snowflake, Streamlit, Power BI, and Databricks, working closely with our Transformation, Operations, and Data teams.
What You'll Be Doing
Data Storytelling & Insight Leadership
- Transform complex datasets into clear, engaging, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Develop interactive data stories, dashboards, and analytical narratives that drive operational improvement and strategic decision making .
- Build and own a library of reusable storytelling frameworks and visual standards for the organisation.
- Present insights across SLT, clients, and operational leadership in a clear, compelling, and evidence driven way.
Advanced Analytics & Data Science
- Apply statistical, predictive, and machine learning techniques to solve operational problems (forecasting, pattern detection, root cause, optimisation, segmentation).
- Develop and operationalise ML models using Snowflake Snowpark, Databricks ( PySpark , MLflow ) , and Python environments.
- Ensure models are explainable, governable, and suitable for public sector and regulated environments.
- Support the development of AI ready pipelines (embeddings, RAG, vector stores, evaluations).
Streamlit App Development ( Frontend for Data)
- Build Streamlit based internal apps and insight tools connected to Snowflake.
- Translate operational needs into intuitive self-service tools for leaders and frontline teams.
- Build user-friendly interfaces for predictive models, performance insights, and scenario simulations.
Data Engineering for Analytics
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Snowflake teams to ensure curated tables meet analytical requirements.
- Build robust Snowpark Data Frame pipelines, UDFs, and Python based transformation logic when needed.
- Perform advanced data preparation across large, Mult structured datasets (contact centre, telephony, CRM, quality, knowledge, WFM).
Data Visualisation
- Build and optimise enterprise level dashboards aligned to Capita visual standards , in various presentations layers from Power BI, Quick sight and StreamLit
- Enhance semantic models and datasets to ensure performance and governance.
- Enable self-service reporting, driving adoption across operational teams.
AI Enablement & Future Ready Data
- Partner with technology and AI teams to provide the data and evaluation layers for future copilots and agentic workflows.
- Build evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, hallucination, and reliability of AI outputs.
- Enable safe, governed, data backed AI deployment across the contact centre.
What We're Looking For (Essential)
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in Snowflake including Snowpark, SQL, Python UDFs, ELT optimisation, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Python , including pandas, NumPy, scikit ‑ learn , and data visualisation libraries.
- Hands ‑ on experience with Databricks ( PySpark , MLflow , Delta, notebooks).
- Ability to build Streamlit apps connected to Snowflake or Databricks.
- Strong Power BI modelling and visualisation skills.
- Experience building predictive, statistical, or ML models in production environments.
- Ability to work with large structured and semi structured datasets (JSON/variant, operational logs, telephony data, etc).
Data Storytelling & Communication
- Exceptional ability to translate data into clear, compelling narratives for non ‑ technical audiences.
- Skilled in visual communication, insight design, and executive level presentation.
- Confident working with SLT, clients, and operational leadership.
Ways of Working

- Ability to operate in fast paced transformation environments.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous areas, shaping structure and clarity from the ground up.
- Collaborative, proactive, and able to influence a broad range of stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience with contact centre data environments (Amazon Connect, QA, WFM, CRM).
- Experience enabling or evaluating LLM/GenAI workloads (RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering).
- Familiarity with automated testing, model monitoring, CI/CD in Databricks.
- Knowledge of public sector and regulated data governance.
- Experience with behavioural analytics and journey optimisation.
