About this role
A Vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Pharmacist to join our expanding Cancer and Technical Services team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting time to join us at West Middlesex Hospital as we open our new Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre, which is projected to double the number of chemotherapy patients treated and expand the range of tumour sites we manage. If you’re an enthusiastic, motivated pharmacist looking to take the next step in cancer services and technical services, this is your moment.
As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will provide high‑quality clinical pharmacy support to our oncology and haematology teams, while also contributing to the operational delivery of our unlicensed aseptic unit.
You will
- Play a key role within the multidisciplinary team, delivering a patient‑focused pharmacy service to cancer patients.
- Contribute to the redesign of pharmacy workflows as we develop our new Chemotherapy Day Unit and Technical Services Unit.
- Receive formal training and accreditation in the clinical screening of systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT).
- Support the day‑to‑day operational running of our unlicensed aseptic unit.
- Develop leadership skills through supervision of rotational and trainee pharmacists.
- Drive improvements by taking part in clinical guideline development, audits and quality improvement initiatives in medicines optimisation.
- Deliver clinical ward‑based duties as required.
- Participate in on‑call, weekend/bank holiday, lunch and late‑duty rotas.
You will be a proactive team player with excellent organisational and communication skills, committed to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care.
