1 Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated, full‑time support to a pupil with additional needs within a structured and supportive setting.

The SEND 1

1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. This is an ideal opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant with strong experience supporting pupils with autism who is seeking a long‑term, ongoing role.

Duties as SEND 1

Teaching Assistant

  • Provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with autism throughout the school day
  • Support learning activities and adapt tasks to meet individual needs
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support using agreed strategies
  • Follow individual education plans and behaviour support plans consistently
  • Promote engagement, independence, and confidence
  • Support communication and social interaction skills
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and wider professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on pupil progress
  • Contribute to a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
