Service Advisor

About this role

FM Conway is currently recruiting for a professional and motivated Service Advisor to work within our Plant and Workshop division As our Service Advisor, you will oversee both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring all legislative, statutory, and operator license requirements are fully met and adhered to, while minimising vehicle downtime as much as possible. This is a permanent, full time position based from in Dartford, Kent.

The duties of our

Service Advisor will include

-Acting as the principal point of contact for enquiries relating to transport and fleet maintenance

-Assisting the Transport and Plant Service Managers in maintaining all records and planning maintenance for both workshop and mobile fitters, ensuring all paperwork is returned by engineers for filing

-Ensuring all plant and transport equipment has up-to-date safety certificates where required

-Liaising with Service Managers regarding damage notifications for any plant or transport items and reporting these to central services

-Reviewing workshop operations and continually seeking ways to improve performance, ensuring the workshop is fully utilised at all times

-Liaising with the Plant Hire Coordinator to ensure all plant hire documentation is completed and all off-hire documentation is returned daily to the hire team

Assisting with incoming calls relating to vehicle or plant breakdowns and logging these on the system

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for a professional and confident candidate, who has experience of communicating with a variety of people via telephone, email, and face to face. It is essential that the successful applicant has previous experience in a service advisor role, or similar position.

Our Plant and Workshop division are an essential part of our projects, without the correct plant or HGV/LGV vehicles we wouldn’t be able to transport our materials from our depots to our sites. Our team work hard maintaining our wide range of heavy plant and small tools which include excavators, dumpers, rollers, JCB’s, bulkers, low loaders, grabs, tippers, bitumen tankers, relocate lorries, volumetric mixers, pavers and planers.
