Our Merlewood Home, a handsome Victorian house, is situated on 23 acres of grounds in Virginia Water, overlooking the Surrey Hills. Providing nursing or personal care to the highest standards from a committed and experienced team.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Housekeepinge Assistant to assist in the daily cleaning of the Home to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment, giving our resident a prompt and courteous service at all times. Working alongside our catering and care teams, you’ll help create a safe, engaging and comfortable environment where residents can thrive.

What you'll do

Carry out high‑quality cleaning across all areas, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, offices, corridors, windows, and fixtures.

Follow agreed cleaning procedures and hygiene standards to prevent cross‑infection and maintain a safe environment.

Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults or issues promptly.

Take responsibility for Health & Safety and COSHH compliance, reporting hazards, accidents, or concerns without delay.

Work effectively to schedules and time limits, supporting colleagues, attending training/meetings, and reporting any resident concerns to care or nursing staff.

Qualifications & Skills

Good general education.

Basic Food Awareness Certificate or NVQ level 2 is desirable (or willingness to work towards it).

In good general health to meet the requirements of the role.

Empathy with older people
