About Us

The Payments and System Data Team is responsible for managing the input, updating and closing care provisions, payees, and payments data across the Adults and Children's Social Care and Corporate Finance systems.

The Senior Payments Officer role will sit in the Payments Team, but it is expected that officers are able to work across any of the three functions as the manager requires to support fluctuating demands or changes in priority.

The Payments Team processes payment runs daily, totalling in excess of £35 million each month and we strongly believe that it is a great team to work for. We support each other and have clear values and behaviours that we work to and pride ourselves on our delivery, standards and customer service.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced finance officer with compassion and motivation to manage a small team of Payment and System Data Support Officers, dealing with the processing of invoices and payments to providers and individuals across Adults and Children's social care.

The role involvessupportingthe PaymentsLeadto deliver the objectives of the Payments team including adhering to all statutory legislation, as well as providing cover for the PaymentsLeadin their absence.

You will oversee the processing of invoices, ensuring they are dealt with accurately and timely along with dealing with queries from providers, individuals and internal colleagues.

About you

We are looking for someone who has significant financial experience and can demonstrate the ability to lead a small team. You will need to have excellent IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems as and when required.

You will be confident working with a wide range of internal teams and providers, and be able to prioritise competing demands to ensure key deadlines are met within the team.

Excellent communication, attention to detail, numeracy skills including ability to gather and compile statistical data in various formats, analyse and presenting the data in a clear way is essential for this role
