The Opportunity
Our client, a successful commercial fit-out business based in Salford, is looking for an ambitious
Assistant Project Manager / Junior Project Manager to join their team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a
Junior/Assistant QS with around 2 years' post-graduate experience who is ready to take the next step into Project Management.
You'll work closely with a Senior Project Manager on larger
CAT A and CAT B office fit-out projects, whilst being given the opportunity to take ownership of your own smaller projects. It's a genuine career progression role, designed to develop you into a Project Manager and ultimately a Senior PM over the long term.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior PMs in delivering larger commercial office fit-out projects.
- Manage smaller projects independently, typically
£10K-£100K in value.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients.
- Attend sites across Manchester and monitor progress, quality and programme.
- Assist with project budgets, valuations, variations and procurement.
- Attend client meetings and provide project updates.
- Help identify and resolve project issues and risks.
- Coordinate design information and ensure projects are delivered safely and to programme.
- Build strong relationships with Estates, Landlords and other key stakeholders.
About You
You'll ideally have
- Around
2 years' post-graduate construction experience.
- Commercial office fit-out experience, particularly
CAT A/CAT B.
- Previous experience working on site.
- Strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
- The ambition to move into Project Management and progress into more senior roles.
Why This Role?
This is more than just an Assistant PM position. It's a chance for a
young construction professional to broaden their experience, get involved in live projects and develop the operational and client-facing skills needed to become a successful Project Manager.
You'll have the support of experienced Senior PMs but will also be trusted with your own projects from day one, giving you a clear route towards
Project Manager and Senior Project Manager positions.
Interviewing immediately - two-stage process.
If you're ready to make the move from QS into Project Management, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
