Part‑Time SEN Teacher - KS4 Specialist September 2026 Start | Long‑Term | 4 Days (Mon-Thurs) Lewisham Borough £180-£260 per day Interviews Taking Place Immediately
A respected specialist provision in South‑East London is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher for a long‑term, part‑time position starting in September 2026. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who enjoys working with KS4 learners and is comfortable teaching across a varied and life‑skills‑focused curriculum.
About the Provision
This specialist setting offers a calm, structured and highly supportive environment for pupils with a wide range of additional needs, particularly autism and communication differences. The school places strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, consistency and personalised learning. Staff work closely together, sharing strategies and maintaining routines that help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
The curriculum is designed to prepare young people for life beyond school, blending academic content with practical skills, accredited pathways and opportunities to build independence.
What the Role Involves
The successful teacher will take responsibility for KS4 groups, with some KS3 teaching depending on the timetable. You will deliver a curriculum that includes:
- ASDAN KS4 accreditation
- Humanities‑based pathways
- Preparing for Adulthood
- A small amount of RE
You will teach across different classes and small groups, adapting lessons to meet a wide range of SEN needs. The role requires a teacher who is calm, consistent and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
Who We're Looking For
- QTS is essential
- Strong SEN teaching experience (role not suitable for ECTs)
- Confident supporting autistic learners and those with complex needs
- Skilled in adapting teaching for varied abilities
- Fluent English (mother tongue or equivalent level)
- Comfortable working across multiple classes and pathways
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Contract & Pay
- Long‑term role beginning September 2026
- 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday)
