About the Role

We are seeking a Pastoral & Behaviour Support Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping and embedding our whole‑school approach to pastoral care, behaviour support and pupil wellbeing. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will help us build a nurturing, trauma‑informed environment where pupils can regulate, engage and achieve their full potential—academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and embed trauma‑informed, person‑centred behaviour and pastoral strategies across the school
Develop, implement and review pupil regulation plans, Wellbeing Support Plans and Risk Assessments
Analyse behaviour data to identify patterns, interventions and strategies that reduce RPIs, suspensions and exclusions
Coordinate personalised timetables, recovery curriculum pathways and reintegration processes
Provide coaching, modelling and training to staff in CPI behaviour management and positive behaviour support
Build strong relationships with families, acting as a key link between home and school to support consistency
Liaise with external agencies and contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings to ensure joined‑up support
Respond to behavioural incidents and maintain a visible, supportive presence across the school day
Act as Deputy DSL, ensuring high‑quality safeguarding practice and accurate, timely documentation
About you
GCSE in Maths and English required
Compassionate, calm and resilient
Skilled in behaviour support and trauma-informed practice
Confident working with pupils with complex needs
A strong communicator who builds trust with families and professionals
Highly organised, reflective and committed to safeguarding
Degree Desirable
Willingness to work towards other qualifications as required, will undertake CPI Instructor training on commencement
