Dietetics Admin Assistant | St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

About this role

We are looking for an Admin Assistant with an interest in nutrition and dietetics to support the Community Dietetics team in Wandsworth. The post is part-time, 22.5hrs per week and flexible working hours can be agreed.

You will be based with the team at St John's Therapy Centre, near Clapham Junction with excellent transport links. You will work with another part-time Dietetics Admin Assistant, booking patient appointments on Rio information system, dealing with patient queries on the phone, managing a busy shared inbox, maintaining databases and ordering equipment. You will need excellent IT and organisational skills; previous experience in a healthcare setting is essential and previous experience with a dietetics team is preferable.

You will be joining the St George's dietetic department which consists of over 70 dietitians, who provide clinical inpatient, outpatient and community services to a variety of specialties including oncology, renal, neurology, haematology, paediatrics, cardiology, major trauma, gastro, surgical, diabetes, infectious diseases and HIV.

The department is committed to training dietetic students and actively participates in the training programmes of clinical and non-clinical staff. As a Department we take pride in being involved in national and local initiatives alongside supporting research. There are numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.

St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.

At gesh we are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements. Applicants are encouraged to discuss any flexibility they may need during the recruitment process.

Please see the attached supporting job description and person specification document, which contains more information about the role and requirements. Please ensure your application refers to the job description and person specification.

Please note this post is likely to close early as we anticipate a large number of applicants.
