Specialist grade in Anaesthetics with an interest in Airway

Both sites have an emergency department and provide obstetric services. Between October 2023 and September 2024, the department provided anaesthetic services to approximately 13,500 patients undergoing elective surgery and 3500 undergoing emergency surgery. There were approximately 4000 deliveries at the trust (1500 at EGH and 2500 at STH) with a caesarean rate of 42%, 20% being elective. Critical care, anaesthesia, theatres and pain services are delivered on both sites as part of the CCATP directorate.
