About this role

I am a neurodivergent and disabled man in my 30s and I live with my partner and our young child. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, cooking and outdoor adventures when I can, and learning about child development.

I have 6 hours per week available from September to be used flexibly across a negotiable schedule offering £13.78 per hour with 5.6 weeks annual leave entitlement per year.

Applicants should be comfortable working in an LGBTQ-inclusive household, and an awareness of LGBTQ issues is helpful. This role would be best suited to someone who enjoys variety in their day, has good attention to detail and a background in care, professional or otherwise. A driving licence is preferred but not essential. You will not be expected to do direct childcare as part of the role and will not be left alone with the child.

We welcome applications from disabled people who have the skills and ability to carry out the role. Reasonable adjustments will be considered to support successful applicants wherever possible. However, as the workplace is a standard house, the role requires access to different areas of the home using stairs, which forms part of the normal working environment.

There are no pets in the house and no smoking inside the house or around my child. Parking and public transport both readily available. Enhanced DBS check required for successful candidates.

General duties of the role include

· Support to maintain home environment including light housework e.g. laundry, dishes, sweeping etc

· Support with simple cooking and meal preparation

· Support accessing the community

· Support with shopping

· Support with medical appointments

· Support with outings/activities with my child
