Healthcare Assistant

OakRay Care is a family run business on the Isle of Wight and the New Forest, specialising in the provision of residential care for the elderly. We currently operate four care homes; three on the Isle of Wight and one in Fordingbridge, New Forest.

We have an exciting opportunity for Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly, supportive team at our Fordingbridge care home.

Glynn Court Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 31 people over the age of 65, some of whom are living with dementia or physical health needs.

As a

Healthcare Assistant you will

• be involved in supporting the daily activities of our residents, ensuring a person-centred approach is undertaken at all times
• assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals
• have a respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and a willingness to undertake any aspects of care.

Whether you are accompanying a resident to a dentist appointment, completing a care plan document, assisting a resident to have a shower, reading the morning newspaper to a resident, or assisting someone to have breakfast, you should do so with care and kindness.

You should be compassionate and understanding, good written and verbal communication, and some basic IT skills. A full induction programme and training is provided. This job is varied, interesting and very rewarding.

A competitive salary is offered, which will be discussed at the interview. This is a full time position.
