What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint a Head of School to start September 2026 at Ethelred Nursery School. This post provides an exciting opportunity to take on a new challenge as Head of School, working alongside the Federation senior leadership team to manage an outstanding nursery school. This post will require an experienced teacher, ideally with senior leadership experience of leading on school improvement, with previous line management responsibilities and a background in SEND.

  • excellent early years practice and knowledge of children’s development from - birth to 5
  • experience of working closely with families
  • experience of managing SEND
  • the ability to inspire and lead a team
  • relevant knowledge and expertise
  • a friendly, calm and supportive approach
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • enthusiasm for continuing your own professional development
