senploy • Alton, Hampshire
About this role
Studied Psychology and want to apply it in a real-world setting?
Or looking for a role where you can genuinely support young people day-to-day?
We're working with specialist SEN schools across Alton and the surrounding Hampshire area -
and we're looking for Psychology graduates to step into Learning Mentor roles
starting this September.
No school-based experience? That's absolutely fine.
You don't need to have worked in a school before - just the right mindset, empathy,
and the ability to build positive relationships.
We'll support you with training, guidance, and experience in schools so you feel
confident from day one.
- Supporting students with additional needs, including SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health)
- Working with young people who may have experienced trauma
- Building trust and helping students feel safe and understood
- Supporting behaviour in a calm, consistent way
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEN teams
This is a fantastic opportunity to take what you've learned in Psychology and apply it in a practical, meaningful environment.
You'll gain hands-on experience supporting students with mental health needs and trauma, while developing valuable skills relevant to careers in:
- Educational Psychology
- Clinical Psychology
- Teaching or SEN support
- Youth work or pastoral roles
We're particularly keen to hear from
- Psychology graduates
- Those interested in mental health, behaviour, and child development
- Individuals who are calm, patient, and empathetic
- Anyone looking to build experience before further study or training
You don't need all the answers - just the willingness to learn and support young people.
- Full-time opportunities starting in September
- Weekly pay from £100 per day (PAYE)
- Flexible pathways into long-term roles
- Free training and upskilling, including modules in:
- Behaviour management
- SEN and SEMH support
- Safeguarding
- Experience and shadow days before you start
- A supportive, people-first approach
At Quokka Education, safeguarding comes first.
All applicants will be vetted in line with DfE guidance, including an online search as part of the process. We'll guide you through every step so you know what to expect.
Apply today or get in touch for an informal chat - we're always happy to talk things through.
