We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school team in Cranleigh. This is a highly rewarding role within the school's Inclusion department, focusing on students aged 11-16 with complex learning and emotional needs.
This is a long-term to permanent position, offering you the stability of a consistent role with the opportunity to transition into a permanent contract.
The Role
Specialist Student Support
Reporting to the SENCo, you will be a key advocate for students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Tailored Support
Implement EHCPs and adapt curriculum resources to meet individual student targets.

In-Class Intervention
Provide high-quality 1-to-1 or small-group support to foster academic and social growth.

Independence & Wellbeing
Help students build the confidence and "life-ready" skills they need for adulthood.

Behaviour Management
Use proactive de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment.
What We Are Looking For

Essential
Proven experience working within a school setting.

Desirable
Prior experience supporting pupils with specific and complex SEN.

Exceptional patience, resilience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Commitment
Available for an immediate start and able to work 5 days a week during term time.
