How you will make Plan Zero happen…

The Role & Responsibilities

The role's responsibilities include

-Develop comprehensive energy strategies for clients across sectors such as telecommunications, commercial, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare.

-Achieve measurable energy savings by implementing Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs).

-Build a pipeline of energy-saving initiatives through targeted, cost-effective optimizations, capital investments, and advanced smart building technologies.

-Conduct thorough energy audits and prepare detailed reports outlining actionable opportunities and projects for reducing energy and water consumption as well as associated costs.

-Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the successful adoption of identified energy-saving measures.

-Foster robust and sustainable client relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication at all stages.

-Maintain thorough documentation and evidence for contract compliance, including adherence to IPMVP savings methodologies and customer audit requirements.

-Deliver presentations on energy management strategies to key stakeholders, consultants, and contractors both within and outside the organization.

-Collaborate with relevant Mitie stakeholders, team members, delivery partners, and contractors to consistently produce high-quality outcomes.

-Analyse utility data (such as half-hourly readings and submetering) and operational metrics (including BMS and SCADA systems) to gain insights into energy usage patterns.

-Provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders regarding energy and carbon savings achievements.

Do you have what it takes?

Experience & Skills

Required skills and experience should include

-Degree or equivalent in Energy/Environmental Management, Building Services Engineering, or related field, or substantial relevant experience (e.g., engineering disciplines).

-At least two years of relevant experience or training.

-Membership in a professional body (EMA, CIBSE, Energy Institute, IMechE) desirable but not essential.

-Strong technical knowledge of energy management, building services (HVAC, electrical, mechanical), and BMS.

-Effective communicator with stakeholders through presentations and calls.

-Analytical, data-driven approach to business improvement.

-Commercial awareness and good project/facilities management understanding.

-Excellent planning, organisational, and initiative skills; able to manage workload within tight deadlines.

-Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills; comfortable collaborating across all site levels.

-Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently

-High MS Office proficiency.

-Commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Other requirements

-Preferred candidates are located in southern England (e.g., Bristol, London, or Reading), but those nearby may also be considered.

-Home based with regional travel to client site required up to 4 days per week (Monday to Friday)

-Only UK residents or individuals with a valid UK work permit are eligible.
