Company Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Gateman to join our team on the HS2 high-speed rail project in the Banbury area. This role is ideal for someone with a strong awareness of site safety, good communication skills, and experience working on large construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Controlling access to and from the construction site for vehicles, staff, and visitors.
- Signing in and out all personnel and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintaining a logbook and monitoring deliveries and collections.
- Conducting visual checks of vehicles and ensuring proper PPE compliance at entry.
- Liaising with site security, traffic marshals, and the logistics team.
- Ensuring the gate area is clean, tidy, and operating safely at all times.
Requirements
- Valid CSCS card
- Previous experience as a Gateman or in a similar site-based role
- Good communication skills and professional demeanour
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and site protocols
- UK Driving Licence - site is not easily accessible via public transport
Desirable
- Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket (CPCS or NPORS)
- First Aid qualification
- Experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure projects
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, with weekend or extended hours possible based on site requirements.
