We are a supportive, growing team in an expanding city wanting to make a positive difference for our patients and families. We are 10 bedded Intensive Care Unit in a University Teaching Hospital managing patients requiring Level 2 and 3 care, including the treatment and transfer of adult and paediatric patients for specialist management. Holistic care is at the centre of everything we do and we are proud to run a successful multidisciplinary rehabilitation service. We are not afraid of challenge, change and innovation and actively participate in research, simulation training and shared learning across the national critical care community to strive for excellence. Clinical Responsibilities

To be responsible for the unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of evidence-based care.

To formulate evidence-based programmes of care based on an assessment and evaluation of patient needs.

Professional Responsibilities

To comply with Trust policies and practice within the NMC Standards and guidelines.

To maintain professional registration and fulfil revalidation requirements.

Education and Training

To assist, when necessary, with induction and orientation programmes for staff ensuring that the needs of the ward are met.

To participate in the sharing of knowledge with colleagues.

Other Duties

As part of ongoing professional development, and when required, act as Nurse in Charge in the absence of a Band 6/Sister, with appropriate guidance and support from senior nursing staff.

Staff may be temporarily redeployed to other areas of the Trust during times of peak acuity, in accordance with their skills, competence and service needs.
