Agilysis is a consulting and research company. Data Technicians will have the opportunity to work with geospatial and non-geospatial data, to develop their analytical, technical and non-technical skills whilst in position.

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Agilysis as a Data Analyst/Consultant Apprentice as part of their early careers programme, Momentum.

The post holder will undertake the 15-month (+ 3 months End

Point Assessment) Level 4 Apprenticeship

AI Data Analyst, whilst supporting the design and delivery of a range of high-quality consultancy products provided by Agilysis Limited and its associated companies. The post holder will also provide expert guidance on statistical testing and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of consultancy services

Use both established and innovative techniques, and methodologies, to meet the aims and objectives of each bespoke project design.

Working with the whole Consultancy team to deliver high-quality outputs for clients, delivering analysis and insight, producing reports, and other appropriate outputs (such as visualisations and dashboards) to support clients in their work.

Ensure that all reports and outputs are prepared professionally and are consistent in both quality and branding.

Liaise with clients at meetings, including providing presentations, and receiving feedback on outputs to ensure they both meet expectations and deliver agreed outcomes.

Work with the Technology team to identify and process data relevant to specific projects, and internally commission bespoke tools and outputs where these require access to advanced technologies.

Project management

Follow the internal planning processes using standard company systems and tools, working with other team members to organise and achieve delivery, and then monitor and report on progress (including resource effort).

Representing Agilysis

Represent Agilysis and promote the company’s services at conferences and other industry events

Pursue continuous professional development and training to maintain relevant knowledge and skills

The Level 4 Apprenticeship will provide skills and experience in

Python fundamentals and coding for analytics

Descriptive, predictive and time-series analysis

Data Compliance and Governance

Data lifecycle, governance and ethics

Databases

SQL, Access, cloud and data lakes

Data modelling, segmentation and architecture

Data cleansing, validation and quality control

Data Communication and Application

Dashboard design using Excel and Power BI

Storytelling with data and stakeholder communication

Work-based project with immediate relevance

In addition to the training delivered through the Level 4 Apprenticeship, dedicated training and mentoring will be provided through Agilysis’ early careers programme, Momentum. Helping early careers professionals with joining the workplace, modules will cover:

Project Management

Report Writing

Industry-specific training (including collision investigations, road environment and assessment, data and modelling, human factors and behaviour change, and vehicle technologies).

Skills and knowledge learned from these two training strands will be applied to real-world client work, allowing the postholder to demonstrate their skills and learning.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship you may be offered a full time, permanent position with Agilysis

Skills required

Owing to the specialist nature of the role, it is not expected that applicants will be able to exhibit any significant experience in technical business systems or processes.

We do expect applicants to be able to demonstrate

  • An appreciation of the nature of data and how information can be derived from multiple, inter-related datasets
  • The ability to analyse and present different data sources to share findings to a range of audiences
  • Good communication skills

Qualifications required

  • GCSEs at grade C/4 or above or L2 functional skills in Maths and English
  • a level 3 qualification in a similar field would be beneficial but not required

Personal qualities

An analytical mindset, good attention, good organisational and communication skills
