Computer Assistance (Wise Serve) is one of the largest independent computer support companies in Oxford. Unlike other companies, we provide support to both homes and businesses with advice from viruses and hardware issues, to servers and infrastructure design. Job description

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career as an Apprentice ICT Support Technician whilst completing a L3 ICT Apprenticeship Standard.

Annual salary of £20,000

Duties Include

  • Providing internal technical support for computer systems including server, desktop, and networking infrastructure.
  • Building PCs, Installation of Operating Systems and peripherals for internal and external customers
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders (internal teams and external customers / third parties)
  • Recording all calls to ensure accurate information about the client’s systems is maintained and available to other team members and account managers.
  • Escalating issues in line with guidance and working with other support staff to build knowledge and skills required for all sites supported.
  • Complying with all working practices relating to the customer site.
  • Building strong relationships with customer account managers
  • Having a proactive approach to customer IT systems to ensure future problems are avoided and the longer-term development of the customer IT systems is considered.
  • Consult users on customer sites who have high expectations and liaise with your team/line manager.

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language, Maths & ICT)

Personal qualities

Must have a passion for IT.

Even if you haven’t had the experience of working in IT, If you are really into IT already and can show us some of the projects that you have worked on in your spare time we shall happily consider this.
