Salary

from £14.45 per hour plus additional £3000 - £6000 pa for sleep-ins. (£62.64 per sleep-in)

Shift patterns - Full time working long days plus extra sleep in on a shift pattern

We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our loving, fun and busy family home, supporting children and young people who have expereinced trauma

You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

We want to create a safe haven where every child's potential shines bright, you'll be the beacon of hope, providing unwavering support to our young champions.

What do you need?

Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.

Great communication skills, positive, playful and energetic.

Experience in working with children in care or transferable skills such as children's nursery, adult supported living, challenging behaviours, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial.

Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.

Full UK Driving licence is beneficial

You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins

What does the job involve?

Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children, led and supported by a registered manager.

Act as a professional parent, to to give encouragement and praise.

Enjoy fun days out such as fishing, ice skating, bowling and trampolining and revisit missed milestones.

Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations

Build friendships and trusting relationships

Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks

Empower them to make decisions about themselves

Ensure a safe home environment, cleaning, laundry, cooking is part of the job.
