A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly, experienced, and supportive veterinary team in Oxfordshire. This modern, well-equipped 24-hour veterinary hospital serves as a central hub for the Oxford region, delivering exceptional veterinary care to pets both day and night.

Situated on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, the practice offers excellent transport links to Oxford city centre and benefits from a picturesque setting. Recently extended and refurbished, the hospital features advanced facilities including a CT scanner, digital x-ray technology, and a high standard of clinical equipment to support outstanding patient care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with an interest in emergency and critical care (ECC) who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering gold-standard care to both patients and clients.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a collaborative nursing team where every opinion is valued and contributes to excellent patient outcomes. The role offers exposure to a wide range of interesting medical and surgical cases, supported by an experienced and welcoming team.

Typical responsibilities will include

  • Delivering exceptional nursing care to patients to the highest clinical standards
  • Supporting surgical and medical procedures within a busy veterinary hospital environment
  • Monitoring and caring for inpatients, including emergency and critical care cases
  • Developing tailored treatment plans and communicating effectively with pet owners
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory, operational, and clinical best practice standards

Flexible Weekend Working Options

This is a permanent part-time weekend role, covering Saturday and Sunday shifts, with genuine flexibility available to suit individual circumstances.

Flexible working options may include

  • Full-day or half-day weekend shifts
  • Alternate weekends
  • Variable weekend rotas to fit around personal or professional commitments

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will

  • Be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Hold RCVS registration
  • Have a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care and client service
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in emergency and critical care nursing
  • Be a positive team player with a proactive and compassionate approach
  • Have a desire to continue developing clinical skills and knowledge
