Job Description and Person Specification
Band 5
To abstract relevant clinical information from EPR, translate them into ICD10 and OPCS4 classification codes and input them in a timely manner as per National Standards and local policies using the Trusts encoder. To achieve accurate, timely, and consistent clinical coding within set standards and targets. To be responsible for monitoring and checking quality of coded data within the assigned clinical units / specialties.
Band 6
To abstract relevant clinical information from EPR, translate them into ICD10 and OPCS4 classification codes and input them in a timely manner as per National Standards and local policies using the Trusts encoder. To lead and be fully responsible for the coding function within the assigned clinical units / specialties. To assist the Clinical Coding Service Manager to develop, maintain and manage a skilled efficient coding team in order to provide high quality clinical coding service within the Trust.
