About this role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting the company’s commercial growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and increasing company revenue. The role involves market research, business strategy development, client engagement, and promoting the company’s services within the construction and engineering sector.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support company growth and expansion.
2. Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing clients.
3. Research market trends, competitor activity, and potential areas for business development.
4. Promote the company’s services through meetings, networking, and commercial engagement activities.
5. Prepare business proposals, presentations, quotations, and service agreements for potential clients.
6. Negotiate commercial terms and assist in securing new contracts and partnerships.
7. Work closely with senior management to develop business growth strategies and revenue targets.
8. Generate sales leads and follow up on prospective business opportunities.
9. Attend client meetings and industry events to expand the company’s professional network.
10. Maintain accurate records of client communications, negotiations, and business development activities.
11. Support customer retention by maintaining ongoing communication with clients and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
12. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of services to clients.
Skills and Experience Required
1. Previous experience in business development, sales, marketing, or client relationship management.
2. Strong communication and negotiation skills.
3. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
5. Good organisational and commercial awareness skills.
6 . Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Knowledge of the construction or engineering sector would be advantageous.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business systems.
