An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a growing and well-established small animal veterinary practice in North West London on a part-time basis.

Following significant growth over the last two years and increasing client demand, the practice is seeking an additional part-time Veterinary Nurse to support its expanding caseload and experienced clinical team.

This long-standing clinic has served the local community for several decades and benefits from a loyal and growing client base. Continued success, alongside the arrival of a highly experienced senior vet, has created the need for an additional RVN to join the team.

The Role

This is a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position, working

  • 2 days per week – Mondays and Tuesdays
  • 8-hour shifts
  • 1:3 Saturday rota shared between this practice and a nearby sister practice
  • 1:10 Sunday rota working alongside the Small Animal Hospital team
  • 1 bank holiday per year

Importantly, there are no on-call or out-of-hours (OOH) requirements for this role, supporting a strong work-life balance.

This position would suit both an experienced RVN and a newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse, thanks to the exceptional support available within the practice.

Key Responsibilities

As a Branch RVN, responsibilities will include

  • Delivering a high standard of veterinary nursing care and contributing to continual clinical improvement
  • Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations as required
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient hospitalisation records
  • Ensuring excellent standards of patient welfare and comfort
  • Preparing, cleaning, sterilising, and storing clinical equipment correctly
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels of drugs, consumables, and prescription diets
  • Supporting the induction and training of new team members
  • Providing occasional reception support, delivering excellent client care in person, via email, and over the telephone
  • Supporting Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs) and Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs) as a clinical supervisor
  • Promoting a collaborative, respectful, and supportive team culture

  • 2 consultation rooms
  • Dedicated theatre

  • Dental X-ray
  • Ultrasound facilities
  • A spacious back garden — perfect for outdoor lunch breaks during warmer weather

The successful candidate will join an exceptionally experienced and supportive team, including a senior vet, a long-standing part-time RVN with 38 years of service, an experienced VCA, and an additional training VCA. The practice is also expanding its clinical team further with the recruitment of an additional part-time vet.

Salary & Benefits

The salary band for this role is £32,000–£35,000 FTE (full-time equivalent), based on a 40-hour working week and pro rata for part-time hours, dependent on experience and with clear progression opportunities.
