Working in a team of Enforcement professionals, to support DVSA’s strategy.
The Bus Compliance Team provides national coverage, supporting other enforcement schemes and processes within DVSA, in line with the strategy.
Working closely with frontline Enforcement staff, the Central Licensing Office, Office of the Traffic Commissioner, Vehicle Operators, Local authorities, Intelligence, the Strategic Traffic Management Office, and central policy teams.

The role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills, working closely with DfT, enforcement teams, regulatory bodies, local authorities and policy teams. Responsibility includes developing and delivering the bus compliance strategy, making timely, proportionate decisions in complex and evolving environments, and analysing risks and intelligence to determine appropriate action.
You will focus on customer outcomes, build effective relationships, and promote continuous improvement. The role involves managing and developing a remote enforcement team, overseeing performance and service quality, and supporting DVSA’s wider enforcement strategy through national bus compliance activity.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to
- Play a key role in implementing and delivering DVSA’s bus compliance strategy
- Lead the day-to-day management of a remote enforcement, delivering national bus compliance work
- Allocate resources and prioritise workloads
- Oversee case quality by reviewing, endorsing and improving enforcement decision-making
- Handle complaints and queries professionally
- Deliver training, presentations and briefings to internal teams and external partners
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying better ways of working and encouraging innovation
- Represent DVSA at meetings, events and stakeholder engagements across networks
