Conferencing Technician
An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first class services to the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory Portsdown West. Previously security cleared personnel are particularly encouraged to apply.
Position Overview
We are looking for a full-time, versatile, and enthusiastic Conferencing Technician at Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, Portsdown West, Fareham. The successful candidate will fulfil a broad range of tasks to facilitate day-to-day customer use of a high number of meeting rooms on site and will have the professional capability and ability to multi-task in providing efficient management & maintenance of AV equipment. Additional training will be given where required.
Main Responsibilities
-Routine and reactive maintenance of AV equipment
-Be conversant with the meeting room booking system, monitoring daily booking, and ensuring booking details are posted on meeting room doors.
-Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained and meeting rooms are prepared to requirement, including seating, VTC and other conferencing equipment.
-Assist with the management of reception area noticeboards.
-Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations.
-Carry out other reasonable tasks as required; this could include cover for other site Mitie team members and other building management and access control duties.
What we are looking for
A reliable, trustworthy, competent, and physically fit person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Confident, self-motivated, and able to use own initiative, highly responsive to company and customer requirements. Pro-active and consistent with the ability to adapt quickly to the different needs of the business and:
-Experience of maintaining AV equipment.
-Proficiency in the use of workplace IT to a level commensurate to the role (Essential).
-Capability to multi-task when and where needed, as required by the business.
-Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
-Flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities.
-Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships.
-Maths and English to a GCSE standard.
Additional Information
MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.
Proof of right to work in UK essential.
The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week requiring an element of flexible output during the overarching service hours of 0730 and 1630 Mon to Thu and to 1600 on Fri only.
Required to wear approved company work wear.
