Perioperative Clinical Fellow ST4 in Anaesthetics

The successful candidate will be joining a team of six tiers of anaesthetists across 2 sites(RSCH and PRH). In addition, there will be off-site on call generalist consultant support, aswell as on call consultants for all the sub-specialties (neuro, cardiac and paediatrics). There isa separate ICU on call team onsite. Flexibility will be required to participate in on callrotas across both sites (RSCH and Princess Royal Hospital). Training lists will be provided in a variety of anaesthetic specialties and at either hospital site;a proportion of distantly supervised lists will be offered / expected according to competencesof the post holder and departmental need. The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies andunforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation,where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreedbetween the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stressesthat additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should notbe required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
