About this role

This post is for a Locum Consultant In Ophthalmology with clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbital disease

The post is for a short term contract only.

The candidate will need extensive clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with Oculoplastics, Lacrimal and Orbital disease and some experience of General Ophthalmology including anterior segment disorders. The Candidate may be required to undertake surgery on such cases both under supervision and independently.

This post is suitable for those who have had experience as a Consultant with a primary interest in oculoplastics, orbital and lacrimal surgery. The candidate will work within the senior clinical team who have a priority on the delivery of the service.

Applicants should have completed their specialty training in Ophthalmology and fulfil all the competencies of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Specialty Training Curriculum in this respect. There is no on call commitment.

The candidate will be required to work in accordance with the GMC Good Medical Practice and Trust policies and will be expected to continue engage in the appraisal and revalidation process at their substantive trust or current designated body

Applicants should have completed their specialty training in Ophthalmology and fulfil all the competencies of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Specialty Training Curriculum in this respect.
