The Role

This fast-paced first opinion clinic is looking for a second full-time RVN to support its growing caseload. The practice sees a wide variety of medical and surgical cases, and with a Senior Vet who has a strong interest in surgery, this role offers excellent clinical exposure and development opportunities.

You’ll work closely with a highly supportive team and play a key role in all aspects of practice life, including theatre, consultations, inpatient care, stock control and mentoring trainee nurses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care across all areas of the practice
  • Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures
  • Monitor anaesthesia and maintain accurate patient records
  • Provide inpatient care, admissions and discharges
  • Run nurse consultations and preventative healthcare clinics
  • Manage stock levels of drugs, consumables and diets
  • Maintain and sterilise surgical equipment
  • Support the induction and development of new team members
  • Mentor trainee veterinary nurses
  • Assist with reception and client communication when required

Working Pattern

  • Full-time position
  • 4-day working week (Mondays off)
  • 1 in 4 branch Saturdays
  • 1 in 10 Saturday rotation at a nearby 24-hour hospital
  • 1 bank holiday per year
  • No on-call duties

The Practice

The clinic spans two floors and is fully equipped to support a broad GP caseload, offering a stimulating and varied environment for an enthusiastic RVN.

  • Senior Veterinary Surgeon
  • Associate Veterinary Surgeon
  • Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Trainee Veterinary Nurses
  • Dedicated Manager

Salary & Benefits

  • £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience
