Estimator - Façade / Curtain Walling

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a busy façade team, taking ownership of high-value tender opportunities across curtain walling, aluminium glazing systems and related building envelope works. This is a hands-on commercial role for a technically strong candidate who can read complex architectural documentation, lead tender strategies and deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage full tender processes for high-value façade and curtain walling projects from initial enquiry to submission.
• Produce detailed, accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender packages.
• Interpret complex architectural drawings, specifications and structural details to develop technical solutions and priceable scopes.
• Prepare take-offs and quantity surveys using industry tools and ensure robust allowances and risk assessments are applied.
• Liaise with design teams, project managers, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and clarify technical requirements.
• Drive value engineering initiatives, identify cost-saving opportunities and present commercial recommendations to stakeholders.
• Attend site surveys and pre-tender meetings as required.
• Maintain and develop cost databases, rates and estimating templates; ensure tender documentation, commercial assumptions and exclusions are clearly recorded.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience leading high-value tenders within façade, curtain walling, or aluminium glazing systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of curtain walling, windows, doors and building envelope solutions, including system interfaces and performance considerations.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural drawings, specifications and structural information accurately.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a sharp commercial mindset.
• Proficiency in estimating and drawing review tools (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam, CAD/BIM familiarity) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, comfortable engaging with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail, ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders concurrently.
• Relevant qualification in construction, engineering or quantity surveying preferred and demonstrable track record in façade estimating.

Location and travel

• Office-based with Hybrid after Probation with regular site visits and client meetings; travel to project locations required.
