About this role
Barts Health NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in England, serving a diverse population of over 2.5 million people across East London. Our Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is nationally recognised for its high-volume complex trauma and reconstructive work, operating from The Royal London Hospital — the UK's busiest Major Trauma Centre — and Whipps Cross University Hospital.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to join our team on a full-time basis (10 PAs). This is an excellent opportunity to work within a high-performing department at the forefront of facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and oral pathology, alongside internationally recognised colleagues.
The post holder will work as a Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, providing high-quality clinical care to patients referred to the department. They will contribute to the full range of OMFS activity across elective and emergency pathways, including outpatient clinics, theatre lists, and on-call commitments as rostered.
The locum consultant will work alongside substantive consultants, specialist trainees, and the wider multidisciplinary team to maintain safe, effective, and patient-centred care. They will be expected to support junior medical staff, contribute to audit and governance activity, and uphold the Trust's values and standards.
