Established in 2005, Arundel Care Services specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities across Sussex. Around 80% of those we support are also on the autistic spectrum. We have 19 small, supported Living services across East and West Sussex.

Role & Responsibilities
Due to expansion we are currently looking for positive, compassionate, and caring Support Workers to join our supported living services Brighton. We are recruiting for two brand new services services. We attribute each successful candidate to one service that we match with the needs of the people we support.
Most of our services are family sized houses where between 2 and 4 adults with learning disabilities and Autism share their home together. The first service we are recruiting for will be home to three individuals sharing their home together.
The second service has enabled several individuals to embark on a new journey where they each reside in a self contained flat. This setting has functional communal areas to meet with one another. This service supports 7 tenants living together.
All of our services are very active with activities in the service and in the community. We support with all aspects of daily living supporting them to develop their skills and encouraging their independence.
Ideally the successful candidate will hold a full UK drivers licence but is not essential due to one of the locations being more central in the city making parking more difficult.
Duties may include but are not limited to
Assist the people we support in all areas of their lives and help them to achieve their goals.
Participate in providing daily activities for the people we support.
Undertake tasks of a domestic nature, e.g. shopping, cooking, laundry, house cleaning with individuals
Develop and maintain professional relationships with people we support’s relatives, outside agencies and other professionals.
Support individuals in their personal care when appropriate.
Supporting and caring for those who can at times, displays behaviours that others may find challenging.
To develop a full knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures pertaining to the people we support. Including reports, support plans and daily recordings.
To undertake the role of keyworker for an individual.

Requirements
Staff work on a shift basis across the week and have a monthly rota, some weekend working is required.
Regular sleep-in duties will be required as part of the support worker role these are paid in addition at £70.00 per sleep in.
Please note that all our positions require an Enhanced DBS check in relation to adults.
Full UK driving licence is preferable.
· We do hold a sponsorship licence but are very limited on the quantity available at this time. Part time contracts are offered from 22.5 hours, we are unable to accommodate applicants seeking 20 hours. Previous applicants need not apply.
