Our client, a leading educational institution in Leatherhead, is seeking a talented and dedicated Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £90 - £100 per day, making it an attractive proposition for those with the necessary skills and experience.

As a Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the teaching staff, providing individualised attention and assistance to ensure the academic, social, and emotional well-being of the students in your care.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of SEN practices and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of young learners. You will be expected to have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with the teaching team, and a passion for creating a safe and engaging learning environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualised learning plans and strategies to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborating with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all students.
  • Monitoring and documenting the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate support strategies.
  • Offering emotional and social support to students, promoting positive behaviour management techniques, and fostering a nurturing and empathetic learning environment.
  • Attending relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest SEN practices and pedagogical approaches.
