We're looking for an LDS Chaplain to join our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Team, supporting the delivery of pastoral care, faith services, and rehabilitation initiatives within HMP Millsike. This role plays a vital part in fostering a culture of restoration, inclusivity, and respect across the establishment.
Role Responsibilities
-Deliver pastoral care and faith support to prisoners and staff, ensuring accessibility regardless of faith or belief.
-Plan, organise, and lead worship, religious services, and observance of holy days in line with LDS practices.
-Support prisoner rehabilitation and resettlement through faith-based guidance, mentoring, and community engagement.
-Work collaboratively with Safer Custody, Equalities, and wider prison teams to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
-Participate in key prison processes, including ACCT reviews, violence reduction initiatives, and equalities forums.
-Provide faith and belief advice to staff and contribute to awareness programmes that promote understanding and inclusion.
-Maintain accurate records, reports, and chaplaincy administration in line with HMPPS standards and policies.
-Build relationships with external faith groups and volunteers to support chaplaincy services and prisoner resettlement.
Required Qualifications
-Practising member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, living in accordance with its teachings.
-Men must be ordained elders or high priests; all applicants must hold a valid Temple Recommend.
-Endorsement from appropriate LDS Church leadership (e.g. Bishop or Stake President) and HMPPS Faith and Belief Adviser.
-Ability to pass enhanced security checks (EL2/CTC).

-Awareness and understanding of other faiths and beliefs.
-Experience supporting training, workshops, or group-based interventions.
