About this role
Job Purpose
To provide expert employee relations and HR policy advice and guidance to a range of customers and stakeholders. To manage a range of employee relations cases and projects in compliance with employment legislation and Council policies.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Manage a personal caseload of employee relations cases and projects including, but not limited to, investigations, sickness, discipline, grievance, performance, redeployment, flexible working and retirement within prescribed timescales and in accordance with the relevant employment policies, guidance and legislation
To administer a range of HR processes such as fixed term contract extensions and terminations, honoraria, FOIs/DSARs and post amendments in accordance with relevant legislation and/or policy
To provide advice, guidance and training on all employment matters, ensuring HR policies, guidance and processes are adhered to and used correctly
To liaise with a variety of internal and external customers, including trade union representatives and representatives of external agencies as required
Maintain accurate case management records producing high quality data analysis and reporting to support the delivery of HR objectives
To conduct exit interviews where required and analyse and provide feedback on exit data
To conduct job evaluations processes including grading reviews and grading appeals
Facilitate or support project meetings, formal meetings, hearings, appeals and Employment Tribunals
Continue to maintain the highest standards of professional practice and take responsibility for personal development, keeping abreast of legal developments and best practice
Undertake, where required, other responsibilities and duties including work related to all areas of business, on behalf of the organisation, where this is commensurate with the grade of the post.

Being fully accountable for managing the council�s resources well and complying with statutory requirements. This includes managing time, avoiding unnecessary waste, reuse and recycle resources to reduce personal impact

Physical Demands of the Job
This post involves both office and field work. Hence it involves sedentary work and the need to travel to appointments
