About this role
To work as an assistant psychologist within the Psychology Team, Mental Health Services for Older People. The post will primarily involve working with Haringey Memory Service (HMS). All clinical work will be under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist and the role will include some joint work with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
The role will involve working with clients with cognitive difficulties/dementia and their carers. This will include delivering the START programme, a manualized CBT-based intervention for carers of people living with dementia, as well as managing the database of referrals to the programme. The work will also include delivering some psychological informed interventions for individuals and co-facilitating groups within the service including Cognitive Stimulation Therapy..

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
Clinical work will involving delivering the START intervention to family carers of people with dementia and co-facilitating the CST programme. Specific duties will be determined on the basis of skills and experience and operational service requirements, and may vary occasionally as service needs/priorities change. The post holder will need a high level of administration and organisational skills in order to manage the multiple aspects of the role. The role will include some audit and quality improvement work to support ongoing service transformation work. This will include collating Patient Experience Feedback and the development of service user involvement opportunities within the service.
