About this role
A senior strategic leadership role responsible for driving organisational performance, transformation, and delivery at scale. The post holder will work as a key member of the senior leadership team, directly supporting the Chief Operating Officer to deliver sustained improvement in operational, clinical, and financial performance.
The role will provide executive-level leadership across performance management, corporate delivery and transformation programmes. The post holder will be accountable for establishing a high-performance culture, leading complex improvement programmes, and ensuring delivery against national standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational priorities.
The post holder will operate with a high degree of autonomy, influencing at Board and system level, and shaping organisational strategy through the use of insight, analysis and innovation.
Act as a senior organisational leader, contributing to corporate strategy, decision making and governance
Provide expert advice and leadership on performance, delivery and improvement at Board level
Shape and deliver long-term organisational performance delivery strategy aligned to national priorities
Lead organisational response to regulatory requirements and external assurance processes

Hold overall accountability on behalf of the Chief Delivery Officer for effective use of performance frameworks to ensure robust oversight
Drive the adoption of advanced performance management systems, leveraging data, benchmarking and predictive analytics to deliver improvement
Drive recovery and improvement programmes where performance is challenged, ensuring sustainable delivery
Ensure clear accountability frameworks are in place across all services
Provide senior leadership on performance delivery
Ensure performance delivery and improvement actions are informed by data insights
Oversee development of modern, efficient and responsive support services aligned to organisational priorities
