About this role
Caring for paediatric and adult patients in the immediate postoperative period. Maintaining a patent patient airway. Escalating concerns regarding patient deterioration. To be an autonomous practitioner to maintain good patient health while also administering prescribed care to prevent patient deterioration. Administering analgesia to maintain patient comfort. Being confident that patients meet discharge criteria. Handing over ongoing care needs of the patient to the receiving areas on discharge from the unit. Manual handling. Documentation both written and on the relevant electronic systems.
