The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established accountancy practice looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to join their growing Corporate Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional who enjoys leading audit assignments, mentoring junior colleagues and building strong client relationships.
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and accounts services to a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, working closely with managers and partners while taking ownership of assignments from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead and deliver audit assignments for a varied portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring work is completed to the highest professional standards.
. Plan, coordinate and complete audit engagements, both on-site and remotely.
. Identify audit risks, technical issues and key completion points, escalating matters where appropriate.
. Prepare and review audit files, working papers, statutory accounts and completion documentation.
. Support the delivery of accounts preparation, compliance work and advisory services.
. Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout assignments.
. Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
. Accurately record chargeable time and contribute to overall team performance and profitability.
. Supervise, coach and review the work of junior team members, supporting their professional development.
. Identify opportunities to provide additional value-added services to clients.
. Manage the timely completion and submission of client documentation and statutory requirements.
. Assist with ad hoc projects and technical assignments as required.
. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
About You
You will be an experienced audit professional with a strong technical background and the confidence to manage assignments independently while supporting junior colleagues.
Essential
. ACA or ACCA qualified.
. Recent audit and accounts experience gained within an accountancy practice.
. Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
. Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
. Strong understanding of UK auditing standards and financial reporting requirements.
. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
. Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
. Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting/audit software.
Desirable
. Experience using audit and cloud accounting software such as Inflo, MWP, Xero or similar platforms.
. Knowledge of corporation tax and VAT compliance.
