About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant (PA) to provide casual / relief cover for an elderly lady living in her own home.

The role is to support a lady with complex and progressive health needs, including Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, Crohn’s disease, sensory impairment and reduced mobility. Her needs are most acute in the mornings and require structured, attentive support.

This is an important role focused on maintaining dignity, safety, wellbeing and independence within her home environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with morning routine (07:00–09:00) including waking, orientation and support to start the day

• Support with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care (commode use)

• Ensure safe mobility and transfers, including use of a Zimmer frame

• Provide medication support, ensuring correct and timely administration

• Assist with preparation of breakfast and support with nutrition and hydration

• Monitor general health, wellbeing and comfort, responding to any changes in condition

• Provide reassurance, companionship and cognitive support, particularly where confusion may be present

• Maintain a calm, respectful and safe environment at all times

About You

• Experience in care/support work, ideally with elderly clients or neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s)

• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently

• Patient, calm and attentive, with a compassionate approach

• Comfortable supporting individuals with mobility and personal care needs

• Able to respond to fluctuating needs and health conditions

• Good communication skills and awareness of dignity and privacy

• This is a casual / relief position to provide cover for existing staff during holidays, sickness and other absences
